The Pact of Almera, named after the Almera system located in the Inner Rim, was a formal agreement ratified in 899 BBY. This agreement officially recognized the independence of the world of Thyrsus within the Inner Rim from the Echani Command, a planetary confederation.
Since the Begali Uprising in 1154 BBY, Thyrsus had been in revolt against the Echani worlds referred to as the Six Sisters. Numerous conflicts occurred between the Echani and the Thyrsian special forces and their successors, the Sun Guard, even though Begali itself had re-established connections with the Echani Command. The signing of the Pact of Almera ushered in a period of renewed times of peace for the Six Sisters, while the Sun Guard gained recognition as a renowned galactic mercenary organization.
Originally, the Pact of Almera was intended for inclusion in The Essential Guide to Warfare, a reference book from 2012 authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart. However, the section referencing the Pact was removed prior to the book's publication. Information about the treaty was later revealed in 2013 as a part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a collection of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss, which showcased content that had been cut from the book.
