Shortly following the First Battle of Geonosis, Anakin Skywalker, recently knighted, fashioned a pendant for his wife, Padmé Amidala. This gift was presented to her during a date at Uhmandasee Market, soon after his elevation to the rank of Jedi Knight. The necklace was made using Skywalker's former padawan braid, preserved within a carbonite disk, and subsequently set within a gold pendant.
Later that year, Padmé wore the pendant on a mission to Cato Neimoidia. During this mission, she was contacted by her husband regarding the transmission of self-destructing files to the Jedi High Council for analysis. These files, given by Neimoidian Royal Guard Ruug Quarnom, had the potential to exonerate the Galactic Republic in the Cadesura disaster.
The Padawan braid pendant made its initial appearance in Mike Chen's Brotherhood novel, published in 2022.
