Pathway to Peridea

The Pathway to Peridea represented an ancient hyperspace route that extended beyond the galaxy, reaching into the depths of an extragalactic realm, connecting it to another distant galaxy. According to ancient Jedi stories, a method existed to navigate the migration paths of dying Purrgil. This route was envisioned as a straight line stretching from the planet Seatos located within the Denab system to its destination, Peridea, situated in the remote galaxy.

History

Jedi legend

Baylan Skoll, during his time as a youngling at the Jedi Temple, often heard tales of the Pathway from his peers, which he dismissed as "a mere fairytale." The Younglings believed that the path served as a means for dying Purrgil to reach the "graveyard world" of Peridea, where they would ultimately die, their remains slowly breaking down and their bones adding to the planet's ring structure.

The legend of the Pathway was also known to the Nightsisters of Dathomir, who considered Peridea to be the original homeland of their people, the Dathomiri.

Exploring the Pathway

Around 9 ABY, Morgan Elsbeth, a Nightsister, engaged the services of mercenary Baylan to retrieve a spherical star map containing the Pathway's details, which had been initially discovered by the former Jedi Ahsoka Tano on the planet Arcana. Ahsoka transported the map to Lothal for her former apprentice, the Mandalorian Sabine Wren, to decode. However, Shin Hati, Baylan's apprentice, launched an attack on Wren on Lothal, inflicting severe injuries and successfully securing the map for Elsbeth and Baylan. Together, they determined that the map was fully operational and that the Pathway was indeed a reality. Elsbeth, convinced that Grand Admiral Thrawn, her ally, had been transported to Peridea following the Liberation of Lothal by the purrgil that seized his Star Destroyer, secretly directed her shipyards on Corellia to refurbish and transport the hyperdrive cores from Imperial-class Star Destroyers and Super Star Destroyers to Seatos. There, the cores were integrated into the Eye of Sion, a multi-drive vessel designed for extragalactic travel.

Upon the Eye's completion, Elsbeth instructed her forces to begin the complex task of translating the coordinates within the star map into a viable travel route for the ship. By integrating the star map with a reflex point constructed in the henge of Seatos by a species from the faraway galaxy, Elsbeth's Star Navigator Droids transmitted the route's specifics directly to the Eye. This process, however, faced interruption from Sabine Wren and Ahsoka Tano, who had located them on Seatos by tracking transport CT-O5's beacon. Despite this, Baylan managed to overcome Tano and persuade Wren to permit the process's completion in exchange for the opportunity to reunite with her friend Ezra Bridger on Peridea. Despite the belated arrival of New Republic forces under General Hera Syndulla and their attempt to intercept the Eye before its departure, Elsbeth and her allies successfully initiated the hyperspace jump, setting course for their destination galaxy.

A place of dreams and legends

After an extended voyage through the intergalactic void, the Eye of Sion successfully reached the distant galaxy, validating the Pathway's existence and its final destination.
