Pelek Baw served as the principal urban center on the globe of Haruun Kal. Azita Cruuz, a human inhabitant of that world, spent her childhood as an isolated orphan within the city and observed numerous other youths who still possessed mothers and fathers. On one occasion, she walked through a square bordered by trees and filled with tan structures, which teemed with these families, while she sorrowfully held a novel close to her. Later in life, Cruuz recounted her experiences in Pelek Baw to Jedi Knight Mace Windu, who also hailed from Haruun Kaal, in 48 BBY during their journey together, after he inquired if his recollection of Haruun Kaal being populated with many children was accurate.
Within current Star Wars lore, Pelek Baw was depicted in a memory sequence within the third installment of the Star Wars: Mace Windu illustrated story miniseries from 2024. Marc Bernardin penned the issue, Georges Jeanty provided the illustrations, and Marvel Comics released it on April 17, 2024. The metropolis was initially created in the Star Wars Legends expanded universe, making its debut in Matthew Stover's 2003 book, Shatterpoint.
