Pickled cushnip, a type of food crafted from cushnip, was a culinary item discoverable on the Outer Rim planet of Valo. Back in 231 BBY, the human Jedi Master named Stellan Gios told Indeera Stokes, a Tholothian Jedi Knight, that he wanted to eat some pickled cushnip while on Valo, as the two Jedi were traveling there for the approaching Republic Fair. Stokes then responded in jest, expressing her skepticism that it could be superior to the cuisine they previously relished on the astronomical object Theros Major.
The 2021 novel The High Republic: The Rising Storm, penned by Cavan Scott, featured pickled cushnip; this novel was a part of Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia initiative.
