The Pool of Knowledge, a Force nexus, existed within the Maw on a specific planet. Furthermore, it resided in a Force realm called beyond shadows, accessible by separating the mind from the body. This Pool of Knowledge manifested as a murky pool situated within a humid cave.
According to the Mind Walkers, immersion in it granted access to all knowledge of the past and future. Simply observing it allowed Force-induced visions, notably the Throne of Balance. Both Luke Skywalker and Jacen Solo were presented with the chance to immerse themselves in the Pool of Knowledge, but both chose to decline, opting instead to only witness the Throne of Balance.
Subsequently, the Sith Meditation Sphere Ship transported Skywalker and his son, along with the Sith Sarasu Taalon, Gavar Khai, and Vestara Khai, to this location. The Pool then projected images of the Sith's homeworld, Kesh, followed by the vision of a Jedi Queen seated upon the Throne of Balance. Taalon urgently sought to identify the Jedi queen, as he was convinced that the Jedi could hinder the Sith's ambition to rule the galaxy.
To safeguard the queen's identity, who was in reality their own relative and Jacen Solo's daughter, the Skywalkers attacked the Sith. Taalon submerged himself in the Pool, but the Skywalkers managed to escape the Sith's grasp. The time Taalon spent in the pool initiated his transformation into a being resembling Abeloth.
