As a marksman, Purvis Arrison built a career spanning two decades within the ranks of the Mos Eisley Militia. By the time the Battle of Yavin occurred, Purvis Arrison was a seasoned veteran, still living in Mos Eisley alongside his brother, Ellis. Purvis remained employed in Mos Eisley, serving under the authority of Mayor Mikdanyell Guh'rantt. Arrison had considerable worries regarding the increasing presence of Tusken Raider activity in Junktown, a small village located just outside Mos Eisley. In 1 ABY, he successfully arranged for someone to address the issue. This spacer, though connected to Jabba the Hutt's criminal organization, acted under the instructions of Mayor Mikdanyell Guh'rantt. The spacer took decisive action, eliminating several Tusken Raiders within Junktown, which prevented them from raiding Mos Eisley, a result that greatly pleased Purvis Arrison.
Within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, which was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts before its shutdown on December 15, 2011, Purvis Arrison existed as a non-player character. Purvis Arrison's introduction to the game occurred with the release of "Publish 17," on May 26, 2005. He functioned as a specialized trainer, providing quests to new players who had chosen the "marksman" career path. The "marksman" profession was later removed from the game upon the release of "Publish 25," also known as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005, and Purvis Arrison's quests were significantly altered to become available to all new players.
