Qartuums were a species resembling goats native to the planet of Nevarro.
Qartuums, four-legged creatures with hooves, were approximately the same size as a goat. Distinctive features included lengthy tufts of hair located on their underbelly, along their spine, and around their throat. Additionally, they possessed noticeably large, bulging eyes and a diminutive horn situated on their forehead.
While traversing Nevarro's lava fields in 9 ABY, Din Djarin, Carasynthia Dune, Kuiil, Greef Karga, and a trio of fellow bounty hunters encountered one of these creatures.
Qartuums made their debut in "Chapter 7: The Reckoning," an episode from the first season of The Mandalorian, a television series created by Jon Favreau. Deborah Chow directed the episode, which was broadcast on Disney+ on December 18, 2019. Their identification as Qartuums came later, via an illustration by Phil Tippett featured in the 2020 reference publication, The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season One.
