His initial mention was in a StarWars.com article, which focused on the Nameless entities. Michael Siglain, who is the creative director at Lucasfilm Publishing, hinted at Reek's debut in the 2023 comic adaptation titled Star Wars: The High Republic. The character was subsequently featured in the seventh issue of the series, penned by Cavan Scott, visually realized by Marika Cresta, and released by Marvel Comics on May 8, 2024.
