Neepers Panpick's species

This sentient species inhabited the galaxy, with known individuals including Reek and Neepers Panpick.

Biology and appearance

This sentient race was notable for its diminutive size, comparable to that of "Ewoks." They possessed features reminiscent of rodents and could move on both four legs and two. Their skin tone ranged from tan-pink to gray, and they had similarly colored hair growing from either side of their snout-like mouth. They also had large, bulging black eyes and prominent ears. Members of this species were able to speak Galactic Basic Standard.

Species in the galaxy

Reek, assistant to Baron Boolan of the Nihil

During the era of the High Republic Era, Reek, a member of this species, served the Nihil pirates under the mad scientist Baron Boolan around 229 BBY. Several centuries later, Neepers Panpick, another individual from this species, worked as a private investigator on Cantonica. In 34 ABY, during the First Order-Resistance War, he was present at the Canto Casino in Canto Bight when Resistance operatives Finn and Rose Tico arrived in search of the Master Codebreaker.

Behind the scenes

Concept art of Neepers Panpick was titled King 56.

This species first appeared on screen in the 2017 film Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, directed by Rian Johnson. However, they were initially mentioned in "Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing," a short story by Rae Carson from the Canto Bight novella collection, which was released shortly before the film. Ivan Manzella, a creature concept designer and sculptor, originally designed them, titling his design "King 56." Concept art by MinJi Yoon for Reek, another member of the species, initially appeared on Starwars.com in late 2023 as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project, and the character made his debut in The High Republic (2023) 7 approximately six months later.
