The Ringo Vinda space station, a civilian graving dock in the form of a ring, orbited the world of Ringo Vinda. Initially under the control of the Galactic Republic, the Confederacy of Independent Systems seized it during the Clone Wars. This event triggered the Battle of Ringo Vinda, a Republic military effort in 19 BBY to recapture it from Separatist forces. Following the conflict, the Galactic Empire repurposed it into a manufacturing complex for producing Imperial-class Star Destroyers for the Imperial Navy; rebel operatives sent intelligence regarding the station's production capacity to General Airen Cracken. During the Clone Wars, the station featured both a command center and a communications hub.
The space station of Ringo Vinda made its debut in "The Unknown," the initial episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars' sixth season, a canon animated show. Its initial broadcast occurred in Germany on February 15, 2014. Its identification was first presented in the associated Episode Guide found on StarWars.com.
