The catalyst for this unrest was the bounty hunter Cad Bane, who orchestrated the event as a diversion to facilitate his own getaway, along with that of Moralo Eval. The eruption of the riot was triggered when Bane directed a youthful Boba Fett to challenge Rako Hardeen, insisting that Hardeen should express remorse for his supposed assassination of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, an act that supposedly robbed Fett of a promised reward. Unbeknownst to all those present, Hardeen was actually Kenobi operating incognito. Amidst the resulting chaos and disarray, Eval, Bane, and the disguised Kenobi made their escape utilizing a Panther police interceptor.
