Republic Judiciary Central Detention Center

The Republic Judiciary Central Detention Center, alternatively known as the Republic Correctional Facility, functioned as a highly secure prison facility. It was situated within the Federal District on the planet of Coruscant, specifically in the northern hemisphere. Its internal layout included a sizable panopticon containing numerous cells designed for housing high-risk prisoners, along with standard cell blocks, a dining hall, an exercise area, guard posts for surveillance, a cremation facility, and a medical bay. This correctional institution was operational during the era of the High Republic Era. Subsequent to his change of heart regarding the Path of the Open Hand during the events of the Night of Sorrow, Axel Greylark opted to complete his sentence within its walls. Following his recovery from injuries sustained, which took place aboard a medical frigate orbiting Coruscant, and after spending an additional day in conversation with his mother, Kyong Greylark, and his friend, the Jedi Knight Gella Nattai, he was transported via shuttle to the Central Detention Center. During the period of the Clone Wars, the facility's security was maintained by a force of 3,200 clone shock troopers belonging to the Coruscant Guard, while its operations were supported by a staff of 64,000 individuals. The chief warden of the prison reported directly to the Supreme Chancellor.

Notable individuals incarcerated at the Central Detention Center during the Clone Wars included Ziro the Hutt, Cad Bane, Moralo Eval, Bossk, Boba Fett, Aurra Sing, Poggle the Lesser, and Risha Synata. Furthermore, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi infiltrated the prison disguised as the Jedi-killer Rako Hardeen with the objective of exposing a conspiracy targeting Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine.
