Unbeknownst to Bala, he employed his ex-lover Lourna Dee to safeguard glitterstim shipments from being stolen by Nihil marauders. He met his end at the hands of Towl, a member of the Nihil.
The character RL-18 was featured in flashback sequences of The High Republic: Tempest Runner, a 2021 audio drama penned by Cavan Scott.
