Rostat Manr was a Sullustan male who flew as a fighter pilot.
During the final years of the Galactic Civil War, he began his service to the Rebel Alliance as a pilot flying a BTL Y-wing starfighter. He continued his service to the New Republic, following the Alliance of Free Planets, until 7 ABY. At that time, he felt he had done enough and was weary of combat. Consequently, he resigned his post and started a career as a private pilot.
He found employment with Event Vistas, piloting luxury cruise liners. After demonstrating sufficient skill over a few months, he received a promotion to chief pilot of the Nebula Queen, a vessel that regularly traveled to Coruscant. His co-pilot was another Sullustan named Nurm.
While on leave, Manr was abducted and subjected to brainwashing by agents working for Zsinj, an Imperial warlord. His programming dictated that he would continue his usual job but, upon hearing a specific trigger phrase (related to Ewoks in his nose), he would intentionally crash the ship into Coruscant (ostensibly to eliminate the aforementioned Ewoks).
The individual who activated him remains unknown, but during one of the Nebula Queen's routine voyages to Coruscant, Manr heard the trigger phrase and followed his programming, setting the ship on a collision course with the planet. However, Nurm intervened, seizing control from the auxiliary bridge and locking Manr out of the system. Enraged, Manr rushed to the auxiliary bridge to regain control, but Nurm, acting on instructions from a New Republic Intelligence officer, stunned him with a blast, rendering him unconscious. Manr was then immediately taken into custody for examination.
Due to prior encounters with other individuals affected by Minefield, including Twi'lek pilots Tal'dira and Nuro Tualin, Wedge Antilles, with significant assistance from Wraith Squadron, anticipated a brainwashed Sullustan as the next phase and had alerted General Airen Cracken accordingly. Because of this warning, and the resulting preventative actions, Manr became the first sleeper agent captured alive. His subsequent examination and interrogation undoubtedly provided valuable information to New Republic Intelligence for identifying other potential victims.
