Royal chamber

The Pijali monarchy's palace on the planet Pijal, situated in the Inner Rim, housed the royal chamber. This area was located a single corridor away from the regent's quarters, the designated living space for the serving lord regent. In 40 BBY, Pijali Princess Fanry orchestrated a simulated assassination attempt within the royal chamber. She instructed Cady, her slave, to discreetly place a slicer dart on a windowsill. The Jedi including Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Rael Averross were led to believe the attack was genuine when the attendant showed them the dart. This event deeply disturbed Deren, the royal guard captain responsible for ensuring the rooms' safety.

History

During the Republic Era, Pijali Princess Fanry took up residence in the royal chamber upon her ascension to the position of crown princess of Pijal. In 40 BBY, Deren, the royal guard captain, utilized his astromech droid to inspect the royal chamber and confirm its security. After analyzing the droid's sentry data and conducting a perimeter sweep, Deren was satisfied that the rooms were safe for the princess. However, Fanry secretly plotted a fake assassination attempt on herself, intending to falsely implicate the Opposition performance troupe for acts of violence against the monarchy as part of a revolutionary plan, with the incident to occur in the royal chamber. Cady, her enslaved attendant, obtained nanotechnology weaponry in the form of a slicer dart, which she then concealed on the windowsill within the quarters.

Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi rushed to the royal chamber after hearing Fanry's screams.

Following a series of violent incidents falsely attributed to the Opposition, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi were dispatched to Pijal to safeguard Fanry, as requested by Rael Averross, the Jedi lord regent of the world. When the royal chamber's alarms were triggered, Fanry emitted screams, which prompted Jinn, Kenobi, and Averross to promptly leave the nearby regent's quarters and rush to provide assistance. When questioned, Cady presented the slicer dart to the Jedi, asserting that she had discovered it lodged in one of the room's windowsills.

Following the staged attack, Deren faced questioning regarding the security lapse and felt intense remorse for not having inspected the chamber with greater diligence. Days later, Cady confessed to aiding Fanry in orchestrating the assassination attempt within the rooms, acting under the ruler's instructions. After participating in the chamber attack, the royal attendant came to believe that Fanry was solely motivated by personal power and chose to betray the princess following her coronation when she refused to liberate Pijal's slaves.
