During the Republic Era, the Czerka Corporation held Cady, a human female, in slavery. Subsequently, Czerka relocated her to the planet Pijal, situated in the Inner Rim, to serve the Pijali monarchy. By 40 BBY, Cady had ascended to the role of a vital attendant and a trusted confidante to Princess Fanry of the Pijali people. Cady played a role in Fanry's scheme for a revolution against the Czerka Corporation. This involved orchestrating a staged assassination attempt on the princess, utilizing a slicer dart to instill apprehension in Rael Averross, the Jedi lord regent of Pijal. Cady accompanied Fanry on the ceremonial Grand Hunt of the ruler, where she sabotaged a crab droid, programming it to target her own princess, as part of their elaborate plan to implicate the Opposition, a political performance group, for escalating acts of violence.
Cady aided the princess in her preparations for the coronation. This event culminated in their escape from the Celestial Chalice within the Pijali palace after Fanry's forceful seizure of absolute power resulted in injuries to Deren, the captain of the loyal royal guard. Initially, Cady was under the impression that Fanry would abolish slavery on Pijal upon becoming queen. However, she quickly discerned that Fanry's sole concern was her own authority when the ruler refused to assist in liberating the enslaved workers who were revolting on the Leverage, a cruiser owned by the Czerka Corporation. After Cady contributed to the removal of the newly crowned queen, a new democratic Assembly was established on Pijal to govern the planet. Governor Orth led this Assembly. Cady accepted Orth's offer to attend the educational institution of her choosing, opting for a leadership academy situated on Alderaan, a Core Worlds planet.
Cady, a human female born around 56 BBY, was eventually subjected to enslavement by the Czerka Corporation. During the Republic Era, this corporation mandated her service to the Pijali monarchy on the planet Pijal, located within the Inner Rim. Under the authority of Rael Averross, the Jedi lord regent of Pijal, Cady's duties encompassed cleaning on Czerka ships and fulfilling various requests. By 40 BBY, she had risen to become a crucial attendant and a trusted confidante of Princess Fanry of the Pijali people.
Fanry harbored a deep-seated resentment towards Averross's close ties to and support of the Czerka Corporation, a company that she believed was exploiting Pijal. Consequently, the princess enlisted Cady's assistance in orchestrating a revolution against Averross's ambition to transform her into a constitutional monarch with minimal authority. To gather intelligence on Averross's activities, Fanry instructed Cady to remain in his presence or her own for the majority of the time. Cady was informed of Fanry's intentions to frame the Opposition, a political performance troupe, for escalating acts of violence against Czerka facilities. These attacks were, in reality, perpetrated by blackguards, a clandestine division of royal guards who owed their allegiance solely to the princess.
As Fanry's blackguards persisted in their attacks on Czerka, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, were dispatched sent to Pijal to conduct an investigation. Now under the scrutiny of the Jedi's watchful eyes, Fanry conceived a fictitious assassination attempt on herself to implicate the Opposition for their initial act of violence against the Pijali monarchy, an act that Cady was tasked with carrying out. The attendant procured a slicer dart, a device capable of inducing temporary mind control, and concealed it within the windowsill of her princess's quarters within the Pijali palace.

When Cady triggered the palace's alarms, Fanry's cries promptly summoned Jinn, Kenobi, and Averross to the princess's chambers. The ruler inquired of Cady whether she had witnessed anything, prompting her attendant to present the slicer dart to Fanry and Averross, claiming that she had discovered it lodged in the windowsill following the attack. Cady suggested to Fanry and the Jedi that the attack might have been directed at her, with the intention that the dart's nanotechnology would compel her to assassinate the ruler. Believing the fabricated attack to be genuine, Averross began to harbor concerns for Fanry's safety, experiencing increasing apprehension over time.
At some point prior to Pijal's ceremonial Grand Hunt, Cady, acting under Fanry's instructions, sabotaged the event's prey, a crab droid, by programming it to kill the princess. Cady subsequently attended the Grand Hunt alongside Fanry, carrying a basket filled with luxuries for her ruler. During the event, the droid that Cady had sabotaged launched an attack on Fanry, further reinforcing Averross's belief that the Opposition was becoming increasingly violent. Following the trying event, Cady escorted the princess back to the palace, ensuring that she had not sustained any injuries. The following day, under heightened security, Cady attended a rally with Fanry in Pijal's capital city dome.
Cady assisted Fanry in preparing for her forthcoming coronation, offering assurances that the event would bring about positive change. During the coronation, which took place within the palace's Celestial Chalice, the princess used the ceremonial sword to stab the Skykeeper, Pijal's religious leader. Having completed her seizure of power as an absolute monarch, the newly crowned Queen Fanry publicly denounced democracy. With the crowd stirred into an excited turmoil, Cady, Fanry, and Deren, Fanry's loyal royal guard captain, activated kohlen crystal shields around themselves. However, Kenobi, employing his lightsaber powered by a kohlen crystal, breached Deren's shield, inflicting a wound upon the man. Witnessing the injury to the guard, Cady and Fanry fled through the Chalice's roof, utilizing ascending cables to ascend into a royal troop dropship, leaving behind Deren, the injured Skykeeper, and Pijal's court jeweler.

After Cady and Fanry boarded the Righteous, the recently renamed flagship of Pijal's royal fleet, a 2-1B surgical droid extracted Cady's slave-tracking chip. Cady then informed Fanry that Meritt Col, the Czerka Corporation's Sector Supervisor, remained in command of the Leverage, a cruiser belonging to the Czerka Corporation. Although Fanry was displeased to learn that Deren had failed to eliminate Col at the coronation, she and Cady concurred on rectifying the error. Shortly thereafter, Fanry accepted a hologram call from Jinn on the Righteous, which Cady attended alongside her princess. Fanry, who had intended to launch an attack on the Leverage using her flagship, was surprised to learn from Jinn that the enslaved workers stationed aboard the Czerka cruiser were engaged in a revolt against their handlers.
Cady initially held the belief that Fanry would abolish the practice of slavery on Pijal upon ascending to the throne. However, Cady swiftly realized that Fanry's sole concern was her own power when the ruler insisted on commencing her assault on the Leverage, despite the presence of innocent lives on board. She contributed to Fanry's removal from her position by holding the newly coronated queen at blaster-point until she surrendered. Subsequently, Pijal established a new democratic Assembly to govern the planet, led by Orth, who assumed the role of governor. Cady accepted Governor Orth's offer to enroll in the educational institution of her choosing, opting for a leadership academy situated on Alderaan, a Core Worlds planet.

As an enslaved servant of the Czerka Corporation, Cady harbored profound contempt for her handlers. She maintained the hope that Princess Fanry's revolution against Czerka and Rael Averross, Pijal's lord regent, would bring an end to the practice of slavery on Pijal. Outwardly, Cady presented herself as a dutiful and loyal attendant, becoming a close confidante of Fanry. Cady demonstrated a willingness to engage in deception to further her objective of eradicating slavery, including lying to Averross and instigating violent plots conceived by her princess. She also attended to Fanry's needs, believing that the monarch's endeavors would ultimately lead to her own liberation.
Although Cady was overjoyed to be freed from Czerka following Fanry's coronation, her loyalty to the princess dissipated upon realizing that the ruler's sole concern was her own power, and she participated in the removal of the newly crowned queen. Following the revolution, she exercised her newfound freedom to attend the educational institution of her choosing. Governor Orth regarded Cady as an intelligent individual and expressed hope that she would one day return to Pijal. Cady possessed long, dark-brown hair that extended past her shoulders. During her time as an enslaved worker on Pijal, she possessed a youthful appearance.
While under the ownership of the Czerka Corporation on Pijal, Cady typically performed mundane cleaning tasks and attended to the well-being of Princess Fanry. However, she also demonstrated proficiency in subterfuge. Cady executed several of Fanry's schemes to frame the Opposition for acts of violence against the Pijali monarchy and the Czerka Corporation, including fabricating an assassination attempt on the princess using a slicer dart and convincing Rael Averross of the attack's authenticity. Possessing some degree of technical knowledge, Cady proved capable of sabotaging the crab droid employed in the Grand Hunt, remaining undetected despite the stringent security measures in place.
While under the ownership of the Czerka Corporation on Pijal, Cady wore gray coveralls adorned with the symbol of the Pijali monarchy. She typically kept her hair restrained with a practical piece of cloth while performing cleaning duties. As a slave, Cady had a tracking chip implanted beneath the skin of her hand. Within the palace, she demonstrated the ability to procure a slicer dart for placement in Fanry's windowsill, to be used in one of the princess's revolutionary plots.
During Queen Fanry's coronation, Cady utilized an ascending cable attached to a harness to ascend into a dropship, facilitating her escape from the Celestial Chalice. Following the coronation, while aboard the Righteous, Cady underwent the surgical removal of her slave chip by a droid and donned a black-colored Pijali blackguard uniform. Cady also acquired a blaster, which she subsequently employed to assist in the removal of Fanry from her position as queen.
Cady made an appearance in Master & Apprentice, a novel penned by Claudia Gray in 2019.
