Rufus Trammel

Rufus Trammel functioned as a smuggler during the concluding decades of the Galactic Republic.

Biography

Hailing from the Almas moon named Dorumaa, Rufus Trammel was a Human male. He possessed a slender build and a seemingly fragile appearance, complemented by receding sandy hair, and he often greeted others with a welcoming grin. Trammel's profession involved dealing in exotic goods, and over a decade, he gained recognition as someone capable of procuring almost anything for his clientele. However, his methods were not always ethical. For example, he once gathered plant specimens from the moon Blathar III. Following his departure, alien viruses decimated the majority of the planet's flora, enabling Trammel to resell numerous samples to the Blathar government at a substantial profit. This event led Nirama's Organization to openly denounce Trammel and sever all ties with him.

Following that episode, Trammel redirected his attention toward rare and unusual animals. In 31 BBY, he commenced investigations on Dorumaa, frequently observed traversing its oceans aboard his yacht skiff named Mine Mine Mine—though he never piloted it personally. Trammel submitted a bid for a private platform on Tolea Biqua, but subsequently withdrew his offer when Nirama's Organization intentionally disclosed this bid to the public. Rumors also linked Trammel to the Metatheran Cartel.

After the widely viewed documentary A Galaxy Befuddled, created by A. Rahring, brought the Dorumaan leviathan to widespread public awareness, the last two known leviathans suddenly gained significant importance. When one of these creatures vanished, suspicion fell upon Trammel, with the assumption that he had abducted it with the intention of selling it to a devotee of Rahring.

Personality and traits

Despite his ever-present friendly smile, Trammel is known as an unsavory individual. He was known for offering a cordial handshake, but maintaining contact for a slightly extended duration. He demonstrated proficiency in several languages, including Basic, Caarite, Neimoidian, Rodese and Ryl. Trammel also possessed a uniquely designed blaster.

Behind the scenes

Rufus Trammel's creation is attributed to Morrie Mullins, who developed him in one of the supplemental articles written for the Living Force campaign. Specifically, the article titled New Crimelord: Rufus Trammel served as an addition to the adventure Depths of Dorumaa, providing a concise biography of Trammel along with his roleplaying statistics. While Trammel himself did not make an appearance in Depths of Dorumaa, the events within the adventure, particularly the resurgence of the Dorumaan leviathans, established the groundwork for some of Trammel's subsequent actions in the campaign.
