The Rystan Badlands represented an expanse of ice asteroids located in close proximity to the tidally-locked world of Rystan. This icy region was perilous, littered with the destroyed remains of various vessels that had unwisely tried to navigate through it. Guided by the Force-attuned Talortai space navigator Udi Dis, the Nihil spaceship known as the Squall Spider, with Marchion Ro and the Eye of the Nihil aboard, was maneuvered through the dangerous Rystan Badlands towards the planet.
