The Salient Battle Group served as the defensive fleet for the independent Salient system. As of 18 BBY, this flotilla consisted of more than twenty capital ships of older designs, with a minimum of four cruisers that had been upgraded with Separatist armaments. This battle group is best known for its conflict against the Galactic Empire during their invasion of the star system. Salient Strategic Command oversaw their actions, which received support from Saw Gerrera's Partisans and mercenaries sourced from across the Corporate Sector.
