The Samhari were a sentient species of Near-Humans originating from Samhar, a planet located within the Grumani sector. This [homeworld](/article/homeworld/legends], abundant with expansive, green forests, was situated proximate to the hyperlane called the Duros Space Run; nevertheless, the Samhari maintained a detached posture from neighboring regions. This tendency towards isolation led them to prioritize their own internal affairs over the concerns of the broader galaxy.
During the Republic Dark Age, the Jedi Order considered the Samhari to have limited alliances within the sector. A concise observation regarding their planet was documented by Vannar Treece, a Human Jedi Master, in his report to Supreme Chancellor Genarra. This occurred shortly before Treece embarked on a mission into the Grumani sector. Within this communication, Treece acknowledged his uncertainty regarding the fate of the Samhari amidst the conflict between the Sith Lords Daiman and Odion for control of the sector.
Jason Fry conceived the Samhari for The Knight Errant Gazetteer, which was released on StarWars.com on November 12, 2010. This gazetteer served as a supplementary resource for the Star Wars: Knight Errant comic series authored by John Jackson Miller.
