The sanctuary tree, also referred to by some as a serpent's puzzle due to its dark branches' interwoven, knot-like appearance, was a specific type of tree found on Endor. Endor is a wooded moon in orbit around the planet also called Endor. After the Battle of Endor, the Ewok, Wicket W. Warrick, gifted Leia Organa with an acorn, the tree’s small, knobby fruit. Leia, on the advice of her brother Luke Skywalker, planted the acorn in Chandrilan soil and utilized it as a central point for her meditations.
