Sarlis Beni was a male Human spy operating on Tatooine during the era of the Galactic Civil War.
Following the Battle of Yavin, Sarlis Beni made his home in Mos Entha, a settlement on Tatooine. During this period, he was an active member of a clandestine spy network that included Kaesii DuPree and the Bothan, Lercer Gaia.
In the year 1 ABY, a small-time gang of Tatooinian pirates unlawfully seized a courier vessel owned by the Incom Corporation. While the pirates were primarily interested in the ship's general cargo, they also inadvertently acquired an encrypted datapad containing sensitive information about a new product being developed by Incom. Consequently, a high-ranking official from the Incom Corporation reached out to Sarlis Beni, tasking him with the retrieval of the stolen datapad. Upon the recommendation of Kaesii DuPree, Lercer Gaia dispatched a spy to meet with Sarlis in Mos Entha. Sarlis then instructed the spy to travel to Mos Taike to confront the pirates. After a discussion with their leader, Eyan McDermitt, the spy discovered that the datapad was in the possession of an Imperial commando named Jubai Laetlii, located at the Imperial Oasis. The spy successfully managed to discreetly steal the datapad from Jubai and return it to Sarlis. Ultimately, Sarlis Beni gave the datapad back to his contact at Incom, who verified the data and compensated the spies for their successful mission.
Sarlis Beni appeared as a non-player character within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This game was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts, before its servers were shut down on December 15, 2011. Sarlis Beni was integrated into the game with the release of "Publish 25," also known as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.
