Scover Byne was a Bivall of female gender. She owned the Byne Guild, a group that managed the transportation of goods across the Galactic Frontier in the time of the High Republic Era. Byne acted as the foster mother to Affie Hollow, a Guild pilot whom Byne aimed to prepare for leadership within the organization. Frequently, Byne could be found aboard the Guild freighter called Legacy Run. Following the destruction of the Legacy Run during the Great Hyperspace Disaster, Hollow became concerned about Byne's well-being. Subsequently, Byne faced arrest, and her Guild was shut down when Hollow reported her to Galactic Republic officials. This was because Byne had been exploiting laws concerning indentured servitude, compelling her indentured workers into hazardous tasks in return for reduced indenture periods, a fact Hollow uncovered.
