Screecher's Reach

Screecher's Reach was a mountain located on a certain planet, notable for containing a cave rumored to be haunted. Prior to the Sith's unveiling to the Jedi in 32 BBY, a Force-sensitive female resided within this particular cave.

History

At one point in time, a Sith witch made Screecher's Reach her home, which gave rise to tales of ghosts haunting the mountain's cave.

Prior to 32 BBY, a small group of children, led by a Force-sensitive child named Daal from a nearby orphanage, ventured to the mountain with the intent of witnessing the ghost firsthand. Outside the cave, one of the children, Baython, recounted the ghost stories to the others. Eventually, the children entered the cave and immediately sensed the darkness within. The Screecher revealed herself to the children, who perceived her as a figment of their imaginations. The children fled in terror, but Daal remained to confront the Sith witch. After a short confrontation, Daal used the Force to drop a rock on the Sith woman, but it did not kill her. The witch then tried to use the Force to summon her crimson Sith lightsaber to her hand. Daal seized the lightsaber before the witch could, and without hesitation, Daal killed the Sith.

Behind the scenes

Screecher's Reach was initially conceived for "Screecher's Reach," a short film featured in the second volume of the Star Wars: Visions anthology. Paul Young directed it, Will Collins and Jason Tammemägi of Cartoon Saloon wrote it, and Disney+ released it on May 4, 2023. The Cave of Evil from the 1980 film, Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, served as inspiration for the cave sequence within the mountain.
