Secret Agent Droids, Part 1

C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8 found themselves dispatched to Garel City Spaceport for a clandestine mission on behalf of the Resistance, targeting the planet Garel. General Leia Organa instructed them to remain aboard their starship.

Following Organa's departure, R2-D2 declared himself the mission's leader. Subsequently, he played back an intercepted communication: a plea for assistance to the Resistance from a commander of soldiers eager to oppose the First Order, but requiring transportation off Garel. Despite C-3PO's skepticism, R2 and BB-8 disregarded his concerns and proceeded towards the coordinates embedded within the message.

Throughout Garel City, C-3PO and his fellow droids encountered continuous difficulties as they attempted to evade detection by the First Order stormtroopers patrolling the area. C-3PO remained hesitant about the mission, but his droid companions disregarded his reservations and pressed onward. They swiftly navigated past the stormtroopers, arriving at the message's designated location.

The building appeared largely deserted, with no soldiers apparent. R2 and BB-8 directed C-3PO to investigate, at which point a young Duros girl emerged and struck the protocol droid with a shot from her slingshot. The girl apologized for the attack, explaining that she had mistaken them for First Order personnel. When C-3PO inquired about the message, she revealed that she had fabricated it in order to solicit the Resistance's help.

The First Order had engineered a novel communications system capable of exerting control over all transmissions on Garel, thereby enabling them to dominate the planet. The girl, identifying herself as Likana, possessed the knowledge to disable this system. Despite C-3PO's reservations about trusting Likana given her deception, she asserted the necessity of heeding her words, regardless of her youth. C-3PO found himself empathizing with her experience of being dismissed, and the droids collectively resolved to assist her.
