Jedi Temple Safe Room
The most secure conference room within the Coruscant Jedi Temple complex was known as the Safe Room. The purpose of this room was to allow sharing of highly confidential information, free from any worries about being overheard or recorded.
History
The safe room was constructed around 1000 BBY within the Jedi Temple. It served as the primary meeting location for the Jedi High Council when they needed to discuss top-secret matters.
During a series of robberies that occurred at the Temple in 44 BBY, Grand Master Yoda activated Emergency Code Fourteen. This code summoned Jedi Masters Qui-Gon Jinn and Tahl to the safe room for an urgent update. Within an hour, the Healing Crystals of Fire had been pilfered by an unidentified thief, and the two Jedi were assigned the mission of locating the culprit. Later, after the revelation that Padawan Chun was the perpetrator, Yoda called Jinn back to the chamber. This time, it was to receive a message from his former Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was stationed on Melida/Daan. Kenobi had abandoned the Order to assist the Young, a resistance group trying to put an end to the conflict threatening the entire population. However, Cerasi, one of the Young's leaders, had died, and Kenobi required assistance. Yoda dispatched a response, and Jinn departed the Temple to aid Kenobi.
Upon returning to the Temple with Kenobi, Jinn was summoned to the conference chamber and informed that the High Council was guarding a shipment of crystalline vertex for the Galactic Senate. Jinn, fearing that the vertex was the real target of Xanatos, the Dark Jedi and mastermind behind the Temple attacks, initiated a plan to capture Xanatos.
The secure chamber remained intact until the conclusion of the Clone Wars. In 19 BBY, the Grand Army of the Republic received orders to seize the Temple and eliminate all present. The damaged chamber remained abandoned throughout the Galactic Civil War. The Lusankya catastrophe eventually led to the collapse of the Temple's five towers, resulting in the complete destruction of the safe room.
Layout
The safe room, positioned high in Tranquillity Spire, was a featureless circular room with no windows. It was equipped with a cutting-edge scanning system, ensuring complete protection against eavesdropping devices and surveillance technology. The room was sterile white and also featured an advanced holoprojector that could project life-sized, real-time images from distant locations into the center of the chamber.
