Imperial Senate Building

The Imperial Senate Building, previously called the Galactic Senate Building, and also known as the Senate Building, Senate Rotunda, or Senate Dome, was a massive structure situated on the planet Coruscant. It functioned as the headquarters for both the Galactic Republic Senate and, subsequently, the Imperial Senate of the Galactic Empire.

This impressive structure, the Galactic Senate Building, was situated centrally on Coruscant and encompassed by the Senate District. This area included the Senate Office Building, which housed the offices of the Supreme Chancellor. The building's distinctive dome made it easily identifiable. The blue robed Senate Guards provided security for both the building and the Senate district, blending seamlessly with the Senate Building's formal atmosphere as they stood guard. These guards were stationed at numerous delegate platform entrances, as well as the building's entryways. Monumental statues commemorating the Republic's original founders stood outside.

The building's core was the expansive, circular Galactic Senate Chamber. This chamber featured circular platforms with seating for hundreds of senators and delegates, who assembled to debate and enact legislation. When a senator or delegate desired to address the assembly, their platform could detach from the wall, ensuring they were visible and audible to all present. A podium, used by the Supreme Chancellor to preside over Senate proceedings, was positioned at the chamber's center. The Senate Building also incorporated various smaller conference rooms, senatorial offices (including the chancellor's working office), and supplementary administrative areas. A docking bay was constructed along one side of the building to facilitate convenient access for diplomatic envoys.
