The "working office" of the Chancellor was situated directly beneath the Senate Chamber inside the Senate Building. As a component of the Chancellery Secretariat, its central feature was the Chancellor's podium, capable of elevating 30 meters upwards into the chamber above. Palpatine, the Emperor, maintained his office here alongside Mas Amedda when Yoda, a Jedi Master, gained entry, promptly incapacitating a pair of Royal Guards stationed at the entrance.
