The comic tale called "Separation Anxiety Part One" appeared as the primary story in Star Wars Adventures 9. Michael Moreci penned the story, while Michael Avon-Oeming and Chris O'Halloran provided the illustrations. IDW Publishing released it on September 8, 2021.
Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu are in discussion regarding a loss of communications on Ridlay. Windu, accompanied by Ponds and a group of clone troopers, touches down on the planet. They come across Agon, a local inhabitant, who cautions them that apparitions have forced the villagers to seek refuge. Ethereal beings materialize, and the clones try to fire at them, but the blaster fire goes right through. Agon guides Windu to meet a local leader, who recounts that the so-called ghosts manifest every half-century during a full eclipse; however, this time they have been strangely hostile, forcing people out of their residences. Upon the leader's request, Agon escorts Windu to the Ascension Well, the source from which the ghosts arose. Using the Force, Windu detects that the entities are, in reality, living beings, but their thoughts are in turmoil. Additional beings show up, and then Count Dooku arrives riding a Separatist tank.
