Shadows of the Empire: Evolution #3, published by Dark Horse Comics on April 8, 1998, represents the third installment of the comic book series Shadows of the Empire: Evolution. It functions as a follow-up to Shadows of the Empire.
The human replica droid named Guri has successfully tracked down Doc, the surgical droid who may be the only one who can change her programming which forces her to be an assassin. However, a bounty hunter by the name of Kar Yang is now hunting her down. Meanwhile, Savan, who is undercover as a human woman, is attempting to strengthen her control over the Black Sun syndicate, and understands that Guri is critical to her plans. Luke, Han, and Leia are currently on Coruscant meeting with Savan. They aim to achieve a calm conclusion to the chaotic power shift in Black Sun, completely unaware of her true identity.
