The Shark underwater fighter served as a combat vehicle beneath the waves, utilized by the Imperial Army during the Second Imperial Civil War.
This underwater craft was designed to be piloted by a single individual. Its construction bore resemblance to the old Sith interceptor, but featured an added tailfin. The pilot's area was akin to that found within the TIE Series fighters. Armament included a pair of laser cannons, and propulsion was achieved through four thrusters, with a main thruster positioned centrally at the rear of the fuselage.
The Shark Squadron of the Imperial Army made use of these underwater fighters to pursue Mon Calamari refugees. This occurred after Sith Emperor Darth Krayt issued the command to exterminate all Mon Calamari.
The initial appearance of Shark underwater fighters was in Fight Another Day, a story arc from 2009 within the Star Wars: Legacy comic series. John Ostrander was the writer and Omar Francia provided the artwork.
