Sheffi were creatures characterized by their diminutive size, gray fur, and dark eyes. During the year 34 ABY, Gatha Elbaphay, a frequent visitor to the Canto Casino situated in Canto Bight on the planet of Cantonica, was observed carrying her sheffi pet, named Awgree, while she was present at the casino gaming tables.
The initial appearance of a sheffi occurred in the 2017 film Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, part of the sequel trilogy. The formal identification of this creature within established canon took place in the "Every Creature in the Star Wars Movies" video, which was made available in 2019 on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel.
