Shiny

ClonesInFormation Upon the completion of their training as clone cadets and their subsequent promotion to clone troopers, these fresh recruits were given the nickname "Shinies".

The expression "Shiny" was a pejorative term employed by seasoned clone troopers when addressing their newer, less battle-hardened clone counterparts. The name alluded to the pristine condition of the clone trooper's armor, untouched by the grime of war, and also to their lack of practical experience.

Hevy, Echo, Droidbait, Fives, and Cutup were labeled as shinies when they received their inaugural assignment at a remote outpost situated within the Rishi system. It wasn't until Clone Captain Rex elucidated the term that they grasped its meaning. However, following an assault by Confederacy forces, Droidbait, Hevy, and Cutup met their end, while Echo and Fives were welcomed into the renowned 501st Legion, thereby shedding their "shiny" designation, both in the literal sense due to the wear and tear on their armor, and figuratively, owing to their newfound combat experience.
