Shifting Mires
The perilous Shifting Mires existed within Lurch Canyon on Pasaana. Unstable terrain composed of black sand characterized this region, capable of engulfing almost anything that became trapped within it. Below the Shifting Mires lay extensive tunnel networks crafted by the vexis, which also served as a habitat for indigenous gouge-beetles.
History
Many individuals perished within these sinking grounds, frequently being consumed and dying due to hazardous wildlife or the scarcity of food and water. At some point following the Battle of Endor, Ochi, a Sith loyalist, met his end from undetermined factors within the tunnels, having plunged into the Shifting Mires along with his speeder and dagger.
During 35 ABY, a party of Resistance figures, including Rey, Chewbacca, Finn, Poe Dameron, C-3PO, and BB-8, were ensnared by the sinking terrain and descended into the subterranean caverns. They recovered the dagger and encountered an injured vexis serpent. Rey employed Force healing to mend the creature, which then granted the group secure passage.
