A devotee of a Sith cult, known variously as a Sith acolyte, Sith loyalist, or Sith occultist, was someone who adhered to the beliefs of the Sith and showed reverence for the dark side of the Force. One such cult, the Acolytes of the Beyond, dedicated themselves to amassing Sith artifacts, for example, Darth Vader's lightsaber. Conversely, the Alazmec of Winsit, another group, held the Sith Lord Darth Vader in high esteem as the sovereign of the galaxy. Although the Jedi prophecy concerning the Chosen One reached its fulfillment at the Battle of Endor through the redemption of Darth Vader, the Sith Eternal cult kept the extinct Sith religion alive on the ancient world of Exegol. Under the leadership of the resurrected Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious, the Sith Eternal dedicated a generation to constructing the Final Order, a massive fleet composed of Sith Star Destroyers, ready for deployment as the First Order-Resistance War neared its days end. Nevertheless, the Sith Eternal and their fleet were vanquished during the pivotal Battle of Exegol.
In their early days, Sith cultists made attempts to unearth the vast chasms located on the Sith world of Exegol, with the goal of accessing the vergence situated beneath the planet's surface. Darth Momin, a Sith Lord who never took on an apprentice due to his personal beliefs, received support in his endeavors from a group of acolytes who were deeply committed to aiding their master in the creation of a weapon capable of leveling an entire city.

During the Imperial Era, the Sith cult called the Sith Eternal had established itself on Exegol. They resided in the Sith Citadel and served the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, who was also the Emperor of the Galactic Empire. Ochi of Bestoon, an assassin, was among Sidious's most devoted followers. Around 3 ABY, following the Duel on Cloud City, Darth Vader, Sidious' Sith apprentice, discovered his master's clandestine world after obtaining a Sith wayfinder from the Eye of Webbish Bog. Vader's intention was to assassinate his master and uncover his secrets. However, he was forced back into obedience after witnessing the immense power Sidious had amassed with the support of the Sith cultists, including the creation of numerous strandcasts, the development of Star Destroyers equipped with planet-destroying cannons, and the tortuous harvesting of a mountain of kyber crystals. During his time on Exegol, Vader faced an attack from Sith cultists wielding daggers. Sidious taunted Vader, suggesting that any of these cultists could replace him as a Sith apprentice. In response, Vader used the Force to hurl their daggers into the air, impaling the cultists with their own weapons.

During the New Republic Era, cults such as the Acolytes of the Beyond venerated the last two Dark Lords of the Sith, Darth Sidious and Darth Vader. The Acolytes, though not Force-sensitive, professed to receive dreams from deceased Sith and even to communicate with their spirits. They were led by individuals like Yupe Tashu, who had been members of the Emperor's inner circle during his reign. Their goal was to acquire Sith artifacts, and they opposed the New Republic, sometimes resorting to violence. Ochi of Bestoon, a former Jedi hunter, was also a member of the Acolytes.
Following Darth Vader's redemption and subsequent death as Anakin Skywalker at the Battle of Endor, cults dedicated to Vader's veneration emerged on his throneworld of Mustafar. One such cult, the Alazmec of Winsit, dwelled in the [Corvax Fen](/article/corvax_fen], near the ruins of Vader's fortress, and possessed his Sith wayfinder. Many members of the cult were killed at the command of Kylo Ren, the Supreme Leader of the First Order, when he invaded Mustafar to find the source of a broadcast using the late Emperor's voice. Kylo Ren sought to eliminate them and secure his power against any potential challengers.

After the deaths of Darth Sidious and Darth Vader, the last two Sith Lords, the Sith Eternal maintained the Sith tradition. Following his defeat at Endor, the resurrected Darth Sidious was sustained in a clone body by the Sith Eternal. They further assisted him in creating Snoke through various dark side rituals. Furthermore, they dedicated a generation to constructing the Final Order, the largest fleet in galactic history, with the aim of establishing a new Sith Empire throughout the galaxy. However, Sidious and his followers were defeated in 35 ABY when Rey, a Jedi apprentice, with the aid of the spirits of Jedi past, destroyed the Emperor, her grandfather. This caused the ceiling of the Sith Citadel to collapse, crushing the thousands of followers present.
