A Sith cult represented a group of individuals, known as Sith cultists, who adhered to the Sith religion and devoted themselves to the dark side of the Force. Certain cults, such as the Sith Eternal, would revere one or more particular Sith Lords, putting their teachings into practice, sometimes even striving to bring the Sith Lord back to life. Some cults possessed artifacts, treating them as sacred relics and, at times, as instruments to gain power.
By the time the New Republic had arrived, numerous cults had come into existence subsequent to the extinction of the Sith. These cults, which included the Acolytes of the Beyond and the Alazmec of Winsit, continued to honor and worship the Sith, in spite of its destruction.
The Acolytes of the Beyond caused widespread destruction across the galaxy during the later stages of the Galactic Civil War, launching attacks on New Republic outposts. The Alazmec of Winsit were a Sith cult located on Mustafar that venerated the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
One of the more significant and potent Sith cults was the Sith Eternal, a secretive group known only to a select few that maintained the Sith religion after the Sith had been eradicated. This cult served the resurrected Darth Sidious and included members in positions of influence with a far-reaching network. On Exegol, the hidden world of the Sith, the cult constructed a formidable fleet known as the Final Order and raised a generation of children into an army intended to secure eternal Sith dominance. However, the cult was largely destroyed when Sidious was defeated by his grandchild Rey, and their remaining military forces were annihilated by the valiant Resistance, thus preventing the revival of the long-dead Sith Order and the establishment of a new Sith Empire.
