The throne room, situated inside the Sith Citadel on Exegol, served as the headquarters for Darth Sidious, the reborn Galactic Emperor and leader of the Sith Eternal cult. The ancient Throne of the Sith was a central feature, presented by the Dark Lord of the Sith as an offering to Kylo Ren and Rey, both considered worthy successors. In contrast to the throne, an amphitheater provided space for hundreds of Sith cultists. Between these two prominent structures was a large open area where Darth Sidious' Sovereign Protectors maintained their watch. Due to his deteriorating physical condition, Sidious relied on the Ommin harness to move around the throne room, which became the site of the Battle of Exegol when Rey and the redeemed Ben Solo confronted the Sith.
The throne room of the Sith Citadel is featured in Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, which was released in 2019 and is the concluding movie of the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
