The Skirmish on Coruscant represents a minor conflict that transpired upon Coruscant during the year 32 BBY. Its origins lie in the capture of Padmé Amidala, the reigning Queen of Naboo, by a coalition comprising the Sun Guard, Coruscant mercenaries, and a band of criminals originating from the Restricted Area.
This brief battle ignited when Naboo's monarch, Padmé Amidala, fell into the hands of the Sun Guard, Coruscant mercenaries, and a group of thugs from the Restricted Area. The Jedi protectors of the Queen, namely Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn, alongside their newfound companion Anakin Skywalker, intervened, prompting the Sun Guard and their confederates to attempt their assassination. While half of the Coruscant mercenaries, under the leadership of a Sun Guard, abducted the Queen, the remaining mercenaries engaged the Jedi in combat. Captain Quarsh Panaka swiftly secured the Queen's release, and Kenobi, Jinn, and Mace Windu, who had joined the fray, eliminated the mercenaries. Panaka defeated the leader of the thugs in a duel, effectively thwarting the entire scheme.

The events detailed within this article are derived from two separate missions featured in the video games Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace video game and Star Wars: Episode I Jedi Power Battles, both of which debuted in 1999. Both games have strategy guides which reveal the proper course of the missions.
The narrative presented in The Phantom Menace game clashes with the film's depiction. In the movie, the Queen and her entourage arrive on Coruscant, engage with Supreme Chancellor Valorum, and utilize air taxis for transportation. Conversely, the game portrays the Queen's arrival being met by a Senate Guard member who is subsequently killed, compelling the Queen and Panaka to independently navigate their way to the Galactic Senate chambers. The player assumes the role of Captain Panaka.
Leland Chee, the overseer of the Holocron continuity database, suggested that these occurrences were likely excluded from the official Star Wars canon.
