Its origins lie in the capture of Padmé Amidala, the reigning Queen of Naboo, by a coalition comprising the Sun Guard, Coruscant mercenaries, and a band of criminals originating from the Restricted Area.
This brief battle ignited when Naboo's monarch, Padmé Amidala, fell into the hands of the Sun Guard, Coruscant mercenaries, and a group of thugs from the Restricted Area. The Jedi protectors of the Queen, namely Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn, alongside their newfound companion Anakin Skywalker, intervened, prompting the Sun Guard and their confederates to attempt their assassination. While half of the Coruscant mercenaries, under the leadership of a Sun Guard, abducted the Queen, the remaining mercenaries engaged the Jedi in combat. Captain Quarsh Panaka swiftly secured the Queen's release, and Kenobi, Jinn, and Mace Windu, who had joined the fray, eliminated the mercenaries. Panaka defeated the leader of the thugs in a duel, effectively thwarting the entire scheme.
