After discovering the fate that befell Del Meeko on Vardos, Iden Versio took Zay Versio and Shriv Suurgav onto Gideon Hask's Resurgent-class Star Destroyer, known as the Retribution. Their mission: to acquire intelligence pertaining to the First Order and to eliminate Hask as retribution for Meeko's death. The ensuing conflict led to the demise of both Versio and Hask, while also successfully securing First Order intelligence alongside the specifications for the Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought.
The First Order successfully apprehended Del and the Corvus, an event that transpired thirty years following the Battle of Jakku. Gideon Hask murdered his former comrade, leaving the ship behind to lure Iden into an ambush. Iden soon received word of this from Hask himself on Vardos. Subsequently, hostilities broke out between the First Order and J-sec due to Hask's murder of Gleb. Although the First Order emerged victorious, Iden, Zay, and Shriv managed to board in commandeered TIE fighters before they could jump to hyperspace; the hyperdrive destroyed the fighters, but the trio survived.
The three individuals promptly uncovered schematics for the Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought. Subsequently, they separated; Shriv sought a means of escape, while Iden and Zay aimed to disable the hyperdrive to facilitate their departure. Iden and Zay encountered significant resistance from First Order forces. Zay successfully diverted the personnel to the communications hub. As they completed planting the final explosive charge, Hask appeared and held Zay at gunpoint. Iden surrendered her weapon, unable to risk harming Zay while targeting Hask. Hask mocked her and prepared to kill her, but Zay managed to break free, deflecting his shots and causing him to drop his weapon. Hask shoved Zay off the bridge, but Iden caught her. Zay handed Iden her weapon, and she shot Hask, who plummeted from the bridge into the hyperdrive core, resulting in his death. Following this, they destroyed the hyperdrive and witnessed Starkiller Base in the distance. Iden, however, succumbed to a chest wound inflicted by Hask earlier. This left Zay deeply saddened, but she soon witnessed the destruction of Starkiller Base. She and Shriv escaped to D'Qar, delivering the schematics to Leia, who then dispatched them to seek out allies.
The schematics proved instrumental in the Resistance's destruction of the Fulminatrix during the Battle of D'Qar.
