A slimesnipe was a species of creature inhabiting the jungles located on the planet of Felucia. During the year 3 BBY, Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan journeyed to Felucia for a pathfinding expedition, where she observed her instructor, Chief Pangie, fend off a slimesnipe. As Pangie's attention was diverted by the creature, Organa seized the chance to converse with her friend, Kier Domadi, the Apprentice Legislator, who was also participating in the excursion.
The slimesnipe made an appearance in Leia, Princess of Alderaan, a young-adult novel from 2017 authored by Claudia Gray.
