The snakefish was a unique type of fish that was only found on the sacred moon of Jedha. Jedha itself orbits the Mid Rim planet called NaJedha. These snakefish flourished within the various oases located on the moon, notably including those found in the Narkis Highlands. The icy waters present in these oases acted as a natural coolant for the snakefish. This resilient species was able to survive on minimal nutrients, which were delivered in the form of debris by sandstorms. A single sandstorm had the potential to provide enough nutrient-rich debris to sustain the snakefish for several months. While they favored the flavor of crab, snakefish were known to quickly nip at the smaller appendages of sentient creatures, such as their toes.
Skoova Stev, a fisherman living on the Outer Rim planet Koboh, captured a snakefish in the dry plains of the Narkis Desert during the year 9 BBY. He then placed it within Pyloon's Saloon on Koboh. The Sakavian people viewed the snakefish as a dignified creature deserving of great respect.
The snakefish made its initial debut in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a game developed by Respawn Entertainment and launched on April 28th, 2023.
