Splinter Pass

The initial section of the Mon Gazza Maze Podracing circuit on the planet of Mon Gazza was called Splinter Pass. This area was characterized by a wide, level terrain, but it was challenging to traverse because of the numerous spiked durasteel pillars and totems scattered across it. Due to the disorienting layout, pilots risked losing their bearings and colliding with obstacles; even a minor collision with another racer could propel a pilot directly into one of the robust pillars.

During the Clone Wars, an intergalactic conflict that occurred circa 22 BBY, the Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano received a concise explanation of Splinter Pass from Kidd Kareen, a Twi'lek Podracer. Tano subsequently raced through this section during a Maze qualifier, competing against rivals like San Maxus and Raido. Tano, Maxus, and Kareen later navigated Splinter Pass once more during the actual Maze race.
