Summary from the Publisher

Set before A NEW HOPE, this tale sees Princess Leia Organa taking on a significant challenge: teaching Amilyn Holdo how to operate a speeder! However, both characters gain valuable insights after venturing into the perilous lower regions of Coruscant.

Synopsis of the Plot

Practicing with a Speeder

On the planet of Coruscant, Amilyn Holdo expressed her gratitude to Princess Leia Organa for the opportunity to learn how to pilot a speeder. Subsequently, they made their way to the designated practice area. En route, Holdo inquired about their altitude relative to the ground, expressing surprise upon learning that they were 571 levels above it. The lowest accessible level was Level 5.

Upon reaching the practice area, Organa assisted Holdo in preparing the speeder. Organa voiced her discomfort with the height, preferring to conduct the training on Alderaan. Holdo then initiated the flight, navigating the streets with reckless maneuvers. Organa suggested engaging the autopilot to enter a skylane, but Holdo opted for a more daring approach. She steered the speeder downwards, descending into the lower levels of Coruscant, expressing a desire to explore Level 4. Despite Organa's protests, Holdo continued the descent. Upon leveling off, Holdo piloted them towards a tunnel, aiming to locate the Lost Museum on Level 4.

Exploring the Lower Levels

After parking the speeder, they disembarked and commenced their exploration. While Organa expressed concerns about the potential dangers of the lower levels, Holdo reveled in the freedom of self-expression it offered compared to the upper levels. They entered a tent where they encountered a circus performance. Holdo approached one of the dancers, inquiring about the location of the museum. The dancer provided directions, and they proceeded onward. Despite Organa's continued apprehension, Holdo reassured her that the experience would be enjoyable.

They entered another tent and asked the Zeltron, Forzaa for directions, who demanded five credits in exchange. However, Organa discovered that her credits had been stolen, preventing her from paying Forzaa. Holdo devised a plan, informing Forzaa that Organa was the Princess of Alderaan. To verify this claim, Forzaa requested that Organa place her hands on her Liga crystal. Organa reluctantly complied, placing her hands on the crystal. The crystal confirmed her identity, but Forzaa still insisted on receiving the credits. Organa stated that she did not have them, but then found the needed five credits in her pocket.

As they continued their journey, Organa's hands began to glow after touching the crystal. They deduced that following the intensity of the glow would lead them to the museum. They returned to the speeder and ventured deeper into the levels of Coruscant. The glow on Organa's hands began to diminish. Realizing they were going the wrong way, Holdo turned and travelled deeper into the lower levels.

Reaching the Lost Museum

They arrived at a platform where criminals were replenishing their supplies. Anxious to avoid detection, the leader instructed the criminals to pursue Holdo and Leia on their speeder bikes. A chase ensued, with Holdo navigating through pipes and around sharp turns while the speeder bikes remained in close pursuit. They ascended and concealed themselves within a pipe. Unable to locate Holdo and Leia, the criminals abandoned the chase and returned to their boss. Before leaving, one of the criminals tossed a thermal detonator into one of the pipes. The resulting explosion startled Organa and Holdo. However, upon activating the lights, they discovered themselves surrounded by bats preparing to pursue them.

They propelled themselves out of the pipe and continued their descent. Eventually, they discovered the Lost Museum. Old artifacts and statues were scattered throughout the area as Organa and Holdo gazed in amazement. Reactivating the lights, they examined the ancient relics together. Organa complimented Holdo on her piloting skills and the incredible journey they had undertaken. Subsequently, they returned to the higher levels, anticipating future adventures together.
