The Protocol Offensive can be described as a single issue from the Star Wars: Droids (1994) comic book series. Ryder Windham penned a one-page epilogue for it. Dark Horse Comics released it to the public on September 3, 1997.
This one-shot features a storyline conceived by Star Wars novelist Brian Daley (Han Solo at Stars' End). The script was a collaboration between See-Threepio's performer, Anthony Daniels, and Droids scribe Ryder Windham. Igor Kordey, known for his work on Tales of the Marvels, provided the painted artwork. The story revolves around See-Threepio and Artoo-Detoo in an adventure set prior to Star Wars: A New Hope, where they rescue the planet of Tahlboor! This special one-shot edition offers a complete package.
