The Starros Clan, alternatively referred to as the Starros family, was a lineage with roots stretching back to the High Republic Era.
During the time of the High Republic, its members included Avon Starros along with her mother, Ghirra Starros, who served as the Senator representing Hosnian Prime, which was also her homeworld, in the Galactic Republic Senate. The clan maintained a private compound located on Hosnian Prime. Furthermore, they controlled various holding companies. One such company obtained the significant Valo Restoration contract, facilitated by legislation championed by Ghirra.
By the time of the Galactic Empire, the clan had suffered a decline in status, with its members transitioning from prominent politicians and scientists to figures involved in criminal activities, notably the smuggler Sana Starros, considered among the final remaining descendants of the clan. During this time, Thea Starros held the position of matriarch, and clan members continued to reside at their long-held family estate on Hosnian Prime.
The Starros Clan made its initial appearance, though without explicit identification, through the character of Sana Starros in the fourth issue of the 2015 comic series titled Star Wars. The clan's existence was subsequently referenced during the announcement concerning the delayed release of the Star Wars: The High Republic expansive project.
