Stromm, a Corporal of the male persuasion, served within the New Republic's elite Special Forces. During the year 4 ABY, he was one of six SpecForce operatives among those chosen for a mission to the planet Akiva. This operation had the goal of investigating the Imperial presence on Akiva and extracting pilot Wedge Antilles. The squad, under the leadership of Sergeant major Jom Barell, arrived on Akiva via a transport; they executed a suborbital drop from this vessel. Stromm was the second to exit the transport, which was immediately struck by Imperial turbolaser fire originating from the planet's surface, resulting in its destruction. Subsequently, Stromm was struck by the laser and vaporised. In his final mission, the Corporal was equipped with carbon-lace armor, an orbital drop mask, and parawings.
Stromm's initial appearance was in the novel titled Aftermath, penned by Chuck Wendig and made available to the public in 2015.
