Gunboat

A gunboat represented a specific class of starship employed by the forces of the Galactic Empire. Within this class were subclasses such as the assault gunboat and the escort gunboat. Notably, a battle group of the Imperial Navy stationed within the Ilum system made use of several gunboats.

Various political entities situated within the Unknown Regions incorporated gunboats into their respective fleets. For instance, the Lioaoin Regime utilized a particular gunboat design, and so did the Nikardun Destiny with the Nighthunter gunboat. The Watith species also possessed a remotely operated type of gunboat.
