"Tales of Villainy: Invasion of Echo Base" is a comic narrative that was featured as the second story within the pages of Star Wars Adventures (2020) 1, which was released on October 7, 2020.
On the planet Hoth, Echo Base, the stronghold of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, came under assault from the forces of the Galactic Empire. General Maximilian Veers informed Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith, that the primary power generator had been disabled, paving the way for Vader's deployment.

Vader, accompanied by his snowtroopers, descended onto the battlefield and engaged in combat with the defending rebel troopers. Upon reaching the entrance of Echo Base, Vader instructed his snowtroopers to capture the Heroes of Yavin alive. Subsequently, he employed the Force to breach the door of Echo Base, allowing the snowtroopers to surge inside. A skirmish erupted within the hangar, during which a rebel attempted to warn the command about the Imperial incursion. As Vader eliminated the rebel soldiers, he detected the presence of Han Solo and Leia Organa, a Princess. Vader's entry into the medical bay triggered recollections of his past wounds upon noticing the bacta tank.
In a parallel sequence, a contingent of snowtroopers pursued C-3PO through the base. Their pursuit led them to a room with a missing sign, which they presumed to be C-3PO's hiding place. However, upon opening the door, one of the snowtroopers was seized by a wampa. The remaining snowtrooper swiftly shut the door as Vader reappeared, seeking a status update. He then received information indicating that Solo and Organa were in close proximity, making their way back to the Millennium Falcon. Vader shattered a barrier as they arrived at the hangar.
As the Falcon prepared for takeoff, the snowtroopers deployed blaster cannons. The Falcon neutralized numerous snowtroopers during its escape. Vader observed, realizing that he would need to draw Luke Skywalker to him.
