Talus existed as a planet situated within the Corellia system. This world was integrated into the Galactic Empire and was ruled by the Planetary Governor Ili P'tan, who harbored strong xenophobic views.
The planet known as Talus initially appeared within Star Wars canon through an image present in the 2018 replica journal book Solo: A Star Wars Story: Tales from Vandor, authored by Jason Fry. This image, displaying the Corellian Engineering Corporation logo, showcased all the planets comprising the Corellian system. Its identification as Talus occurred subsequently in the 2019 Fantasy Flight Games roleplaying game sourcebook titled Gadgets and Gear. Within the Star Wars Legends storyline, the planet was initially referenced in the 1995 novel Ambush at Corellia by Roger MacBride Allen, the first book of the Star Wars: The Corellian Trilogy. Talus physically debuted in the second book of the trilogy, Assault at Selonia, which was released later in the same year.
